DACE Winter Night Sky Course
Have you ever looked up at the night sky and been in awe at the points of light above you? Ever wondered what constellations you can see standing in your garden? Or what planets are visible to the naked eye at different times?
The DACE Winter Night Sky course is an introduction to astronomy, focussing on what can be seen in the sky during the winter. Topics include: planets; stars; constellations; observing techniques. The entire course will take place under the spectacular sky of Glasgow Science Centre's Planetarium.
The classes will be presented by Steve Owens, International Year of Astronomy Coordinator for the UK and Joanne Foo, coordinator of the planetarium at Glasgow Science Centre.
The four week course, of two hour lectures, which starts on Saturday 7th November (11am-1pm) costs £45 per person and can be booked via DACE at Glasgow University
