Laika Exhibit Discussion Guide

The first living being in space was a dog named Laika. Sent into space by the Soviets in 1957, she travelled in the Sputnik II satellite. The purpose of her mission was to help scientists discover more about the biological effects of space travel.Sending Laika into space was a controversial subject.
