What do you see? It all depends on how you look at it. You can try this fun experiment at home or in school.
Always remember to ask your parent or guardian to help you.

Ruler
Glue
A pair of scissors
1 x sheet of A4 card
Pencil
2 x pictures (15cm wide and 12cm tall) |
Instructions

Step 1:
Measure your card out so it is 30cm long and 12cm tall.

Step 2:
Cut off any excess card.

Step 3:
Draw vertical lines on your card every 3cm. Do this along the length of the card, so you end up with 9 vertical lines.

Step 4:
Fold the card like a fan along the lines.

Step 5:
On your pictures draw lines every 3cm, just like you did with the card. This time you will have 4 lines.

Step 6:
Cut your first picture along the lines. Glue the strips in order onto the card, choosing every other fold.

Step 7:
Do the same for your other picture, sticking the strips onto the empty folds.

Step 8:
This is what your finished pictures should look like. Stand your card up. Look at your picture from the left hand side. What do you see? Now look at your picture from the right hand side. What do you see?
What should happen?
You will see your first picture (dog) when you are looking from the left and your second picture (cat) when you are looking from the right. What you see depends on your point of view or perspective.
