There are many different types of sports drinks available in the shops.

There are 3 main types of sports drink available: isotonic, hypotonic and hypertonic.
These drinks are all different and are designed for slightly different purposes, but in general they are to replace fluids lost through sweating and to give an energy boost from carbohydrates.
All of these drinks also contain a small amount of salt to help your body absorb water through your large intestine.
